HUMAN IDENTIFICATION

For now our laboratory processes two types of samples for a paternity test: oral mucosa and blood. You can send samples or attend our center for taking them. For the oral mucosa sample, applicants can not be eaten 45 minutes to an hour before sampling of buccal swabs. The blood sampling requires no abstention.

Paternity testing and other of filiation

The paternity testing or DNA testing of the Centro Gendiagnostik is performed by professionals with extensive experience in the area of ​​human molecular genetics, who have studied in Germany and the United State of America, among other countries.  DNA testing is the generation of DNA profiles of the people involved [usually the mother,  alleged father(s) and child (s)], and the comparison and statistical analysis of these profiles. DNA profiles are obtained mainly using 16 polymorphic regions of DNA, also known as the genetic markers, which have great resolution to establish the differences and similarities between people.

The DNA test requires a sample from a buccal swabs of the alleged father and child. Mother sample is optional, but is preferable since it facilitates the analysis. The probability of paternity (typically> 99.9 %) or exclusion of fatherhood (0 %) is obtained as a result of a statistical calculation based on the genotypes (alleles) determined in the loci (genetic markers) under study, which can be identify in the father, son and the mother.

Forensic Testing

The identity of individuals involved in various situations is performed from a wide range of sample types such as toothbrushes, tissues with nasal mucosa, gums, traces of blood, remains from shaving razor, nails, cotton buds ear, strands of hair with root or otherwise after consultation .
